Hand No Work

Shortly after I took and posted the picture to the blog yesterday we turned the corner and William was stopping to pick up some leaves and his little trike tipped over and he landed on his left arm.  Her cried a bit and after hugs and kisses he decided he didn't want to ride the bike back home so I carried it and he walked.  I wasn't sure if he was a little cranky because he didn't get a nap or if his arm really hurt so when we got home I was manipulating it, and seeing if he flinched or not and if it felt swollen or broken.  We ended up leaving a bit early to pick Christian up because I knew William would fall asleep in the car.  I called his doctor to see what the nurse thought.  When we got to school he was still complaining about his arm and I started worrying maybe he broke something, so I was asking him what was wrong, his hand, his arm, and he was crying, "hand no work."

After picking up Christian we played with some friends on the playground for an hour or more and he seemed ok, although a little weepy.  We get home then and he came over to me crying and saying, "hand bwoke, hand no work"  I gave him a big hug and made a big deal about it and then asked if he needed ice and he cried yes.  So we put the ice pack on his hand for...20 seconds - and then he tells me, "hand fix"  Hmmm.

Something tells me some little guy figured out a new way to get some lovin!  I was just relieved to see it was actually ok.  Today he came over to me a couple times while he was playing with Christian and started to cry about his hand/arm, and I looked at it very carefully then said, "let's see if it works, wiggle wiggle (and then I wiggled his arm - and for some reason saying wiggle wiggle always cracks my boys up) and of course he cracked up and then went off to play again.
